SportyTV has announced a three-year agreement to broadcast NBA games free-to-air in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa via its Sporty TV platform. The coverage begins with Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Detroit Pistons.

For the remainder of this season, SportyTV will air eight playoff and NBA Finals games, including key Finals matchups. From next season through September 2028, SportyTV will provide a full NBA broadcast package across the four countries, giving fans free access to some of the league’s biggest games and marquee events.

The package will include weekly NBA Saturday games, NBA Christmas Day fixtures, NBA All-Star Weekend programming, selected Play-In Tournament games, and extensive NBA Playoffs coverage through to the Finals.

“There’s a difference between content being available and it being accessible. This deal closes that gap, bringing NBA games to mobile, smart TVs, and digital platforms built around how people actually watch today,” said Elias Gallego, Vice President of Media, Marketing, and Business Development at Sporty Group.

Fans will be able to follow some of the league’s biggest stars, including LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Luka Dončić, Nikola Jokić, Victor Wembanyama, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, as well as players with strong African connections such as Giannis Antetokounmpo and Joel Embiid.

In addition to live games, SportyTV will also broadcast daily highlights, classic NBA content, and historic matchups featuring basketball legends such as Shaquille O’Neal, Hakeem Olajuwon, and Dikembe Mutombo. This partnership further strengthens SportyTV’s basketball coverage, adding the NBA to its existing EuroLeague programming.
