PMU Mali Partners with FEMAFOOT to Support Malian Football

A major financial commitment has been made to Malian football following a new partnership between PMU Mali and the Malian Football Federation (FEMAFOOT). PMU Mali has entered into a commercial deal worth 500 million FCFA, further strengthening the lottery operator’s involvement in the country’s sporting sector.

The agreement was formalized on September 1, 2026, at PMU Mali’s headquarters in Bamako. It was signed by Fassery Doumbia, Director General of PMU Mali, and Mahazou “Baba” Cisset, representing FEMAFOOT.

According to both organizations, the partnership creates a framework for cooperation between PMU Mali and the body responsible for overseeing football in Mali. They say the agreement is intended to support the wider development of national sport, while also reflecting football’s social and cultural role in the country.

Doumbia described the partnership as more than a commercial arrangement, stressing football’s ability to bring communities together and strengthen social cohesion. He noted that football is an important part of Mali’s social fabric and highlighted its potential to promote peace, national unity, and solidarity among citizens.

PMU Mali said the deal reflects its ongoing commitment to supporting national sport and initiatives that unite people around shared values. The company has previously backed other sporting disciplines, including basketball, horse racing, and equestrian sports.

On behalf of the Malian football community, Cisset welcomed the agreement and thanked PMU Mali and the country’s authorities for enabling greater corporate involvement in football development.

Overall, the 500 million FCFA commitment marks a significant new chapter in the relationship between PMU Mali and FEMAFOOT, providing additional support for Malian football while also reinforcing PMU Mali’s role as a responsible corporate citizen.

The partnership is expected to help drive initiatives aimed at promoting sport, national pride, and stronger community bonds across Mali.
