LONAB awards two checks to PMU’B winners

The Burkina National Lottery (LONAB) officially presented two checks totaling CFA 204,131,000 to two winners of the Pari Mutuel Urbain Burkinabè (PMU’B).

On September 22, 2026, at its Koudougou agency, the presentation occurred.

Comrade Lucien Guenguéré, the Secretary-General of the Nando Region, presided over the ceremony.

Once again, fortune smiled on two Burkinabè bettors.

Moreover, in the presence of administrative and traditional authorities, LONAB officials and partners attended.

The two lucky winners officially received their winnings during a festive ceremony featuring local cultural performances.

Mamadou OUEDRAOGO, a commercial employee, and Baléo YARO, a teacher by profession, were honored at the ceremony.

The former won CFA 69,150,000.

He correctly predicted the winning 4+1 combination in the PMU’B draw of May 3, 2026.

From a bet placed on a race featuring a particularly attractive report order on August 9, 2026, the latter secured a jackpot of CFA 134,981,000.

Both were the sole winners in the correct order.

In his address, LONAB Director General Ibrahim Ben Harouna ZARANI praised bettor loyalty.

He recalled the national lottery’s mission.

He noted that prize presentations serve as tangible evidence of the transparency and credibility of LONAB’s games.

They also demonstrate their potential to transform Burkinabè citizens’ lives.

The LONAB chief executive reiterated that the institution remains a major contributor to Burkina Faso’s socioeconomic development. “Every stake, every registered bet is a stone laid in the construction of the nation,” he said, highlighting LONAB’s contribution to financing national development and solidarity initiatives.

The ceremony’s key moment occurred when the two winners received their checks from the authorities.

The CFA 69,150,000 check was presented to Mamadou OUEDRAOGO by the LONAB Director General.

The CFA 134,981,000 check was presented to Baléo YARO by the Secretary-General of the region.

Moved after receiving their winnings, the two winners expressed their gratitude to LONAB.

They also said they intended to use the funds wisely.

Mamadou OUEDRAOGO said he plans to invest in commerce to expand his business activities.

Baléo YARO intends to invest in agriculture and real estate.

At the ceremony, LONAB reaffirmed its commitment to fully honoring bettors winnings.

It also promotes responsible gambling in support of national development.

More than CFA 204 million has been injected into the local economy. The prize presentation also represents a significant contribution to development of the Nando region, Director General ZARANI said.
