Enugu Host Gaming and Fintech Conference in July

Enugu Hosts Pioneering Fintech and Gaming Conference in Nigeria

The conference, scheduled for July 29 to 30, is expected to bring together regulators, operators, investors, and technology innovators to examine how financial technology (fintech) is transforming payments, compliance, and user experience in a market increasingly powered by indigenous gaming technology.

Organizers say the event, themed “Unlocking Nigeria’s iGaming Tech Opportunity,” highlights the industry’s shift away from reliance on foreign infrastructure toward locally built platforms. These solutions are designed to work seamlessly with digital payments, wallets, and real-time transaction systems.

Speaking ahead of the conference, Ejiofor Agada, event lead for EGC 2026, said fintech will be central to the programme. “Fintech is no longer a support function in gaming, it is the engine that enables scale, trust, and cross-market expansion,” he said. “EGC 2026 will demonstrate how Nigerian-built solutions can power the entire value chain, from payments to compliance.”

Organizers described Enugu and the wider South-East region as emerging hubs where gaming and fintech are increasingly converging. They attribute this growth to policy reforms and rising interest in locally developed technology solutions.

Prince Arinze Arum, CEO of the Enugu State Gaming and Lotteries Commission, said the conference will create opportunities for regulators, investors, and local partners to connect. For operators and technology companies seeking to expand into Nigeria, particularly the South-East, he said the event offers “unmatched access to regulators, local partners, and actionable intelligence required to navigate the ecosystem effectively.”

Organizers also noted that fintech integration can strengthen regulatory oversight through real-time transaction monitoring, automated reporting, and digital audit trails. They said EGC 2026 aims to position Nigeria not only as a major consumer market, but also as a producer of gaming and fintech innovation within Africa’s broader digital economy.
