Dramane Coulibaly, the General Manager of the National Lottery of Côte d’Ivoire (LONACI), has been in Paris for the last few days on a mission. The main item on his agenda was attending the meeting of the Executive Committee of the World Lottery Association (WLA) from July 25 to 29.
Coulibaly, who joined the WLA Executive Committee on February 7, 2024, was there representing the voice of the African Lotteries Association (ALA). This comes after the CEO’s of ALA member lottery companies unanimously renewed their confidence in Coulibaly on March 8, 2024 during a general assembly held in Casablanca, Morocco.
In Coulibaly’s absence, a ceremony was held to lift the body of the late Dr. Lenissongui Coulibaly Wenceslas, the former President of the LONACI Administrative Council (PCA). This took place in the presence of the acting PCA, Mr. Vassogbo Bamba, and several administrators. The Deputy General Manager, Mr. Abdoulkarim Ouattara, represented the General Manager at the ceremony, along with members of the Steering Committee.
The participation of the LONACI General Manager in the WLA Executive Committee meeting in Paris underscores Côte d’Ivoire’s growing influence in the international lottery community and the trust placed in Dramane Coulibaly as a representative of African lotteries.
