DOXXbet – Liberia Incorporated has duly notified the Management of the National Lottery Authority – Liberia of an error it says has occurred in its Operating System (OS) by one of its Service Providers which regulates the Virtual Games.
In a communication dated August 3, 2023 to the Office of NLA’s Director General, Hon. Reginald Kpan Nagbe, DOXXbet’s management noted the error which occurred on Wednesday’s evening, is causing customers to take undue advantage of the system.
The Company is a duly registered and licensed international sports betting company established since 2012 providing sports betting and entertainment on the Liberian market.
Virtual Games work similarly to a slot game where the outcomes are weighted but the final result is decided by a random number generator.
DOXXbet-Liberia’s management further disclosed as per its Terms and Conditions, errors occurring in its System as a result of an event can be canceled or after the event; noting, in this case, its rules on events will apply.
Meanwhile, NLA’s Director General, Hon. Reginald Kpan Nagbe has urged the Sports Betting Company to promptly address its technical issues in order to avoid what he called Operator-Players conflict.
Hon. Nagbe however appreciated DOXXbet-Liberia’s Management for the early- alert which he said demonstrates high-level professionalism, transparency and accountability in the gaming and gambling industry in Liberia.
The National Lottery Authority (NLA) was created by an ACT of the Legislature on December 22, 2014 as an Autonomous Agency to among other things;
regulate all games of chance such as raffle draw, casino, slot machines, scheme, arrangement, system, plan, promotional competition or device for the distribution of prizes by lot or chance, or as a result of the exercise of skill and chance or betting.
NLA also has the authority to grant licenses to applicants who meet the requirements to engage in the business of national lottery in the Republic of Liberia.
Hon. Nagbe has at the same time urged other Gambling and Sports Betting Institutions operating in Liberia to emulate DOXXbet-Liberia’s Early-Alert System (EAS) of any form of error to avoid fraud, sports manipulation and conflict in the industry.
The NLA’s boss said, the Authority’s mandate is to ensure Operators, Players and Investors rights are protected at all levels to maintain responsible gaming and gambling in the country.
