The National Lottery Burkinabè (LONAB) presented a cheque of nearly 98 million FCFA to a fortunate winner of the Urban Mutual Betting (PMU’B). The ceremony took place at the Space Courses en Direct (ECD) Ouagarinter, presided over by Mr. Eugène THIOMBIANO, Technical Advisor to the General Manager of LONAB. He was joined by the Regional Director of the Center, heads of agencies from Ouagadougou, the sales force, and many enthusiastic bettors.
The lucky winner, Mr. Léon KOMPAORE, a commercial clerk from Ouagadougou, demonstrated persistence and daring by winning a total of 97,968,500 FCFA. His success came from a 4+1 bet, with an investment of just 36,000 FCFA. He managed to correctly predict the outcome, including the order and 119 disorders.
After years of modest earnings, Léon is excited about his newfound wealth. “With this profit, I plan to build a roof and expand my business. I already employ people and aim to grow further,” he shared.
Mr. Eugène THIOMBIANO, speaking on behalf of the General Manager, emphasized that this payout showcases the credibility of LONAB’s games and the strong loyalty of its customers. He encouraged gamblers to maintain their trust in national gaming and to keep trying their luck. He congratulated Léon and wished him wise and successful investment of his winnings for his happiness, that of his loved ones, and for the nation.
