The Bojanala District witnessed a day of exciting football, teamwork and responsible gambling advocacy as three schools competed for the opportunity to represent the district at the North West Gambling Board Responsible Gambling Soccer Tournament.

The tournament brought together young footballers in a spirited competition that combined sporting excellence with an important message about responsible gambling. Throughout the event, participants and spectators were reminded of the campaign message: “Gamble Responsibly and Don’t Gamble Your Future Away.”

Following a thrilling series of matches, Meriti Secondary School emerged victorious, securing first place and earning the right to represent the Bojanala District at the tournament’s semi-finals in Mahikeng. At the semi-final stage, Meriti Secondary School will face the winners from the other three participating districts as they compete for a place in the final.

The tournament highlighted not only the competitive spirit of the participating schools but also the importance of teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship and making responsible choices.

The North West Gambling Board congratulates Meriti Secondary School on its impressive performance and commends all participating schools for demonstrating determination, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the competition.

With Bojanala District’s representative now confirmed, Meriti Secondary School will travel to Mahikeng to continue its journey in the Responsible Gambling Soccer Tournament.
