The Regional Hospital Center of Kolda has received significant support from the LONASE Foundation for the reinstallation of its scanner. The hospital administration would like to express its sincere gratitude to Mr. Abdourahmane BALDÉ, General Director of LONASE, for the support provided to the facility through the Foundation.
The donation consists of a cheque for 20 million FCFA, intended to help fund the repair of the hospital’s scanner. This contribution represents an important step toward mobilizing the resources needed to restart this strategic piece of equipment, whose total cost is estimated at 32 million FCFA.
The scanner is a key part of the hospital’s technical capabilities, and its return to service will greatly improve access for people in Kolda and surrounding regions to faster and higher-quality diagnosis. This meeting also gave the Director of the Regional Hospital Center of Kolda, Dr. Makhan DANFAKHA, the opportunity to outline the main challenges facing the facility, as well as the priority investments required to strengthen the quality of care offered.
The discussions helped establish the basis for a lasting partnership between the LONASE Foundation and the Regional Hospital Center of Kolda. The two institutions plan to work together to sign a framework agreement to support several structuring projects, including strengthening the hospital’s technical equipment through the acquisition of medical devices, rehabilitating certain hospital infrastructure, improving patient reception and care conditions, and supporting any other initiatives that contribute to the sustainable improvement of care quality.
On behalf of patients, staff, and the entire population of the Kolda region, the Regional Hospital Center of Kolda extends its heartfelt thanks to the General Director of LONASE for this exemplary commitment to public health. Together, let us continue building a hospital that is more effective, more accessible, and better able to serve the people.
