The Gaming Supervision Institute (ISJ) has strengthened its engagement with municipal authorities in Angola’s Huíla and Benguela provinces as part of efforts to improve institutional coordination and combat illegal gambling activities.

The working meetings were led by Abel Carlos Buzi Nduli, Head of the ISJ Provincial Service for the Southern Region, alongside members of his team. The engagements focused on strengthening institutional cooperation and coordinating enforcement efforts across the region.

In Huíla Province, the ISJ delegation met with Eva Lombe, Municipal Administrator of Palanca; Rita Miranda, Municipal Administrator of Humpata; and Lizender André, Municipal Administrator of Lubango.

In Benguela Province, the delegation held meetings with João Tomás António, Municipal Administrator of Navegantes, and Eurico Bongue Manuel, Municipal Administrator of Baía Farta.

A key focus of the discussions was the fight against illegal gambling and the advertising of unauthorized gaming activities. The ISJ emphasized the need for coordinated action between relevant institutions to strengthen compliance with the laws governing gaming activities in Angola.

The regulator reiterated that operating gaming activities without the required license constitutes a criminal offense. It also called on stakeholders to comply with existing legislation and support efforts to maintain a legal, regulated and responsible gaming sector.

The engagements form part of the ISJ’s broader efforts to strengthen oversight, institutional collaboration and regulatory compliance within Angola’s gaming industry.
