The National Lottery of Burkina Faso (LONAB) has handed over more than 247 million FCFA in winnings to six beneficiaries of the Burkinabe Urban Mutual Betting (PMU’B) lottery.

The official prize handover ceremony was held on September 16, 2026, at LONAB’s headquarters in Ouagadougou. It was presided over by LONAB Director General Ibrahim Ben Harouna Zarani, in the presence of company officials, staff, partners, the winners and their relatives.

The six winners received a combined total of 247,621,500 FCFA in prize money. Sagne Assibi received 34,327,500 FCFA, while Zemane Pegwende Pascal collected 34,565,500 FCFA. Soré Ibrahim and Ouedraogo Ousseini each received 37,367,500 FCFA, while Nacoulma Hamidou received 34,556,000 FCFA. The largest prize of 69,437,500 FCFA went to Ouedraogo Palobgdé Mady.

The winners received their cheques during the ceremony surrounded by family members, LONAB officials, institutional representatives and other partners.

According to LONAB, the handover represents an important moment for both the beneficiaries and the lottery operator, highlighting its role in distributing winnings while contributing to Burkina Faso’s socioeconomic development.

Speaking during the ceremony, Zarani congratulated the winners and encouraged them to make judicious use of their winnings. He also reaffirmed LONAB’s commitment to maintaining its role in Burkina Faso’s gaming sector and ensuring the redistribution of winnings to players across the country.

The ceremony also highlighted LONAB’s stated contribution to the national budget and national solidarity through its gaming activities. The occasion further reflected the lottery’s longstanding slogan: “The prizes to the winners, the benefits to Burkina Faso.”
