The National Lottery of Côte d’Ivoire (LONACI) is strengthening its project governance framework with the establishment of a Project Management Office (PMO), an initiative designed to improve the structuring, coordination, and management of its projects.

The initiative forms part of the strategic vision led by LONACI Director General Dramane Coulibaly and reflects the company’s efforts to strengthen its governance and project management capabilities.

On September 16 and 17, 2026, LONACI held two project management sessions bringing together members of its Board of Directors, department heads, and managers. The sessions focused on the findings of a project management maturity assessment and the challenges involved in developing a stronger project management culture across the organization.

Coordinated by Nila Aby Koné, Director of Planning and Monitoring, and facilitated by consulting firm NOVATEC, the sessions provided an opportunity to share best practices in project management, examine key factors for successful project delivery, and clarify the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders involved in LONACI’s projects.

Through the establishment of the PMO, LONACI aims to strengthen control over project execution, optimize the use of resources, and improve coordination across its various initiatives. The framework is also expected to support the effective implementation of the company’s strategic priorities.

The initiative highlights LONACI management’s commitment to embedding performance, rigor, and efficiency more firmly into the company’s project management processes, while creating a more structured approach to delivering its strategic objectives.
