The Institute for Gambling Supervision (ISJ) has reinforced its commitment to responsible gaming, addiction prevention and social inclusion through a solidarity visit to the Center for the Rehabilitation and Reintegration of Drug Addicts (CRRT) on 12 October 2026.

The visit, organized as part of Responsible Gaming Week, brought together an ISJ delegation, representatives of the National Association for the Fight Against Drugs and Goodwill Ambassadors from the SOS School Project, which receives support from the ISJ under its Support and Sponsorship Policy.

The delegation comprised senior technical staff and was coordinated by Fernando Costa, Head of the Department of Support to the Director-General. The National Association for the Fight Against Drugs participated through its president, Engineer Cláudio Pinto, alongside other members of the association.

At the center, the delegation was received by CRRT Director-General Dr Fausta da Conceição, Acting Deputy Director Artur Vasco and Dr Rosa Contreiras, Head of the Prevention Department at the National Institute for the Fight Against Drugs (INALUD).

During a guided tour of the facility, participants exchanged experiences and recommendations on addiction prevention, rehabilitation and the social reintegration of people affected by substance dependence.

The initiative also provided an opportunity for the SOS School Project’s Goodwill Ambassadors to interact with residents, listen to their personal experiences and offer messages of encouragement and support. The engagement highlighted the importance of empathy, social acceptance and sustained support for people undergoing recovery.

As part of the visit, the ISJ delegation presented donations to the center, demonstrating its commitment to supporting vulnerable groups and strengthening community-based prevention initiatives.

The participating institutions also expressed their commitment to deepening cooperation through joint awareness campaigns, initiatives to prevent risky behavior and efforts to promote responsible gaming practices.

Through the initiative, the ISJ reaffirmed its commitment to protecting vulnerable populations and encouraging a broader culture of prevention and social responsibility.

The institute emphasized that responsible gaming extends beyond individual choices, requiring collective action, public awareness and cooperation among institutions to minimize gambling-related harm and promote safer practices.
