LONAB Supports New 37th International Cycling Race in Burkina Faso

LONAB Funds Tour du Faso 2026 With CFA Francs 100 million

The National Lottery of Burkina Faso (LONAB) has committed CFA francs 100 million to support the organization of the 37th edition of the Tour du Faso, the country’s international cycling race scheduled to take place from October 30 to November 8, 2026.

The contribution was officially announced on October 23, 2026, following the signing of an agreement between Burkina Faso’s Minister of Economy and Finance, Dr. Aboubakar Nacanabo, and the Minister of Sports, Youth and Employment, Annick Lydie Pikbougoum/Zingue Ouattara.

The financial support underscores LONAB’s commitment to working with national cycling stakeholders to ensure the successful organization of one of Burkina Faso’s major sporting events.

The Tour du Faso attracts attention to the country’s cycling scene and provides a platform for sporting competition and national representation. LONAB’s contribution is intended to help cover organizational needs ahead of the race.

The 37th edition is scheduled to run for ten days, from October 30 to November 8, bringing cycling activities to Burkina Faso as organizers prepare for the international event. The announcement was issued by the Communications and Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (DCRP/MEF).
