The National Lottery of Burkina Faso (LONAB) has reaffirmed its support for the country’s cultural and economic development with a contribution of CFA francs 50 million to the International Artisan Fair of Ouagadougou (SIAO).
The sponsorship agreement was signed on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at the SIAO premises, where LONAB formally presented a cheque to the fair’s national organizing committee ahead of its 18th edition.
LONAB Director General Ibrahim Ben Harouna Zarani, accompanied by members of the company’s management team, signed the agreement alongside SIAO Director General Éric Bassolé.
During the ceremony, Zarani highlighted the importance of craftsmanship in creating employment, generating income and preserving Burkina Faso’s cultural identity. He said LONAB was proud to support the event and contribute to its success.
The 18th edition of SIAO is being held under the theme, “African Craftsmanship and Industrialization: What Synergy for Better Valorisation of Local Products and Cultural Heritage.” The theme focuses on strengthening the relationship between traditional craftsmanship and industrial development to improve the value and visibility of African products.
Bassolé expressed his appreciation for LONAB’s continued support, noting that the financial contribution would help the organizing committee cover a significant portion of the costs associated with hosting the many visitors and exhibitors expected at the fair.
Under the sponsorship agreement, LONAB will receive prominent visibility throughout the event, providing an opportunity to showcase its products and services to the public. The announcement also highlighted the Faso Loto 5/90 lottery as one of the products to be promoted during the fair.
The sponsorship underscores LONAB’s continued involvement in major national events and its support for initiatives that promote local production, cultural heritage and economic activity in Burkina Faso.
