LONACI Invests in Housing and School Infrastructure in Côte d’Ivoire

The LONACI Foundation has continued its social development initiatives in Côte d’Ivoire, delivering four housing units for teachers and rehabilitating a six-classroom primary school in the Sinématiali department.

The projects were completed under the Foundation’s social caravan programme, which aims to support communities through investments in education and essential infrastructure.

On October 31, 2026, the Foundation handed over four newly constructed housing units to teachers in Kagbolodougou. The handover ceremony was led by Guédé Marc SAKOA, Executive Director of the LONACI Foundation.

The housing development comprises two three-room units and two two-room units, constructed at a cost of CFA 90,807,687. The project is intended to improve teachers’ living conditions, promote family stability and strengthen social cohesion within the community.

Speaking at the ceremony, SAKOA highlighted the importance of decent housing in providing teachers with security and stability. He described adequate accommodation as an essential factor in supporting their well-being.

Yéo Siriki, speaking on behalf of the village, welcomed the Foundation’s intervention but also appealed for the construction of a multimedia room to further support local development.

The Foundation continued its intervention on November 2, 2026, with the handover of a fully rehabilitated six-classroom primary school to the educational community of Fodonkaha.

The school had been damaged by a tornado in May 2025. Its rehabilitation was completed at an investment of CFA 36,830,502, with the aim of providing a safer and more conducive learning environment for pupils and teachers.

According to SAKOA, investment in school infrastructure creates additional opportunities for children to participate in the development of Côte d’Ivoire.

Representing the community, Soro Daouda expressed appreciation to the Foundation for its commitment to education and equal opportunities.

The Prefect of Sinématiali, Gueu Gilbert, attended both handover ceremonies. He thanked the LONACI Foundation for its contribution and urged beneficiaries to maintain and protect the facilities.

Through the two projects, the LONACI Foundation is extending its social caravan activities beyond the provision of infrastructure, supporting improved living conditions for teachers and access to better educational facilities for communities in Sinématiali.
