The Chairman of the Federation of State Gaming Regulation of Nigeria, Mr. Basir Are, has announced the upcoming “Africa Gaming Expo” (AGE) Lagos 2024.
Scheduled from March 12th to March 15th, 2024, at the Eko Hotel and Suites Convention Centre, this groundbreaking event aims to discuss regulatory frameworks, emerging trends, challenges, opportunities, and prospects in the African gaming market.
Mr. Are, also the CEO of Lagos State Lottery and Gaming Authority, highlighted the expo’s significance as a pivotal gathering for key players in the global gaming community.
Themed “Exploring the Future of Africa’s Gaming Market: Emerging Trends, Prospects, and Opportunities,” the conference is endorsed by The Federal Ministry of Tourism of Nigeria, Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, and regulatory bodies from Botswana, Ghana, and South Africa.
The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, will deliver the keynote address, emphasizing the expo’s role in fostering collaboration among industry stakeholders globally.
The event aims to address operational concerns faced by operators across Africa through networking opportunities and panel discussions.
The expo, promoted by Africa Gaming Expo Limited, will feature an Award Ceremony, panel discussions on Regulations, Responsible Gaming, Market Trends, Customer Behavior, Technology Impact, Social Impact, and Compliance Challenges.
The inaugural edition comes at a time of exponential growth in the African gaming sector, providing a platform for leaders, regulators, and stakeholders to discuss sustainability and global exportation of African gaming platforms.
Mr. Are highlighted challenges in the industry, including multiple taxation, licensing issues, and gaming standards.
Efforts are underway to standardize gaming equipment and enforce reciprocity among regulators to combat illegal operators, address underage gambling, and promote responsible gaming.
Project Coordinator, Africa Gaming Expo (AGE) Lagos 2024, Mrs. Adenike Oyebamiji, emphasized the expo’s role in bringing together diverse industries to discuss operational issues and promote the growth and global export of Africa’s gaming platform.
