National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board led by C.E.O Denis mudene Ngabirano met with Makerere University’s representatives headed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Finance and Administration, Prof. Henry Mwanaki Alinaitwe.
The engagement between Makerere University and the NLGRB aimed to create awareness about responsible gaming initiatives, interventions to combat underage gaming, and the importance of collaboration between educational institutions and the NLGRB.
Strategies discussed included enforcing age restrictions and implementing school-based education programs.
The presentation emphasized the need to educate youth about responsible gaming habits &provide support for individuals at risk of gaming addiction.
The stakeholder engagement between Makerere University and NLGRB served as a platform to exchange ideas, share best practices, and strengthen collaboration in promoting responsible gaming and combating underage gaming.
Both parties affirmed their commitment to working together toward creating a collaboration that will accelerate the mitigation of gaming harm.
