The Gambling Authority of Botswana was awarded the “Best Responsible Gaming Program Award in Africa” at the inaugural Gaming Tech Africa Summit held in Nairobi, Kenya from June 4-5, 2024.
The award was received by the Gambling Authority’s Chief Executive Officer, Emolemo Peter Kesitilwe, and Regulatory Enforcement Manager, Ms Linnet Mafukidze. The event, themed “Bridging Borders, Unifying Gaming & Tech in Africa”, brought together gaming and national lottery regulators from across the continent and beyond.
“We are privileged to receive this honor from our peers in the African gaming industry,” said CEO Kesitilwe. “This award symbolizes the relentless dedication and perseverance exhibited by the Gambling Authority team in nurturing a responsible and well-regulated gambling environment in Botswana.”

The event provided a coveted platform for industry leaders to network, share best practices, and explore the continent’s growing opportunities in the gaming and technology sectors.
