Bet9ja Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Nigeria’s leading sports betting company, has empowered over 65,000 Nigerians across 31 states in the last two years.
According to Ada Cuomo, the Executive Director (ED) of the foundation, their mission is to improve the lives of Nigerians through life-changing programs and essential infrastructure.

Since its inception two years ago, the foundation has successfully implemented 166 projects across five key pillars:
- Education
- Healthcare
- Community Infrastructure
- Youth Empowerment
- Sports Development
During an interaction with journalists in Lagos, Cuomo highlighted the foundation’s commitment to empowering young Nigerians through initiatives such as the Young Executive Program (YEP) and the Scale-Up Accelerator Program, which focus on entrepreneurship, job creation, and skill development.
Regional Impact & Expansion Plans
A breakdown of completed projects shows:
- South-West: 110 projects
- South-South: 28 projects
- South-East: 26 projects
The foundation also drives initiatives in education, leadership development, and mentoring through programs like the Undergraduate Scholarship Program and the Graduate Employability & Entrepreneurship Summit (GEES).
Additionally, the foundation provides direct empowerment opportunities. Over recent years, artisans across Nigeria have received clippers, hairdryers, sewing machines, and other tools to help them generate income.
Future Goals & Strategic Partnerships
Cuomo announced plans to expand to all Nigerian states, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). She emphasized the foundation’s approach of partnering with state governments and NGOs to identify and execute impactful programs.
“We have a three-year plan to reach all states and follow up on the beneficiaries to assess their progress,” she explained.
The foundation has also provided solar power solutions to communities nationwide and continues to tackle unemployment through initiatives like the Graduate Employability Summit.
