The LONACI Foundation held an official handover of computer equipment to several police stations in the Marcory district, at its headquarters in Cocody. The total value of the donation was 23.5 million CFA francs.

The ceremony was chaired by Ouattara Aboubakary, the Executive Director of the LONACI Foundation, represented by Dominique M’Bahia, the Director of Social Action. It was attended by representatives from the national police, including the commissioners from the 2nd, 4th, 26th, and 29th districts, along with various guests, partners, and members of the press.

Chief Ouffouet Hyacinthe, speaking for the Director General of the National Police, highlighted the importance of the donation. “Today is a happy day for the national police,” he said. He said that the newest computers and printers would improve the work of the police stations. This change fits with the modernization plan of the police, which President Alassane Ouattara supports.

In his closing remarks, Chief Hyacinthe expressed heartfelt gratitude for the donation.
“Thank you very much to the LONACI Foundation for this generous contribution. Your action honors us and encourages us to strengthen our commitment to our duties,” he stated.

Dominique M’Bahia highlighted that this donation was part of ongoing efforts, mentioning a similar handover of equipment on April 5, 2023, to the 9th and 31st arrondissements. “These donations reflect our desire to strengthen the collaboration between LONACI and the national police,” she said.

She also stressed the police’s vital role in creating a secure environment conducive to economic activities, stating, “LONACI and its foundation benefit from the positive outcomes of this crucial action.” M’Bahia reiterated the foundation’s commitment to enhancing the working conditions of the police, hoping the new equipment would help maintain or improve the security climate in Abidjan.

In addition to their daily responsibilities of securing property and people, the national police also support efforts to combat illicit gambling and assist during the foundation’s social initiatives. The most recent initiative, running from July 10 to 30, inaugurated several infrastructures in the Agnéby-Tiassa, Bélier, N’Zi, Béré, Lôh-Djiboua, and Worodougou regions.

The LONACI Foundation, established in March 2019 by the LONACI Board of Directors, focuses on social solidarity initiatives throughout Côte d’Ivoire, primarily in health, education, and access to water, with the goal of reducing poverty and improving living conditions for disadvantaged populations.
