Leading sports betting brand betPawa has signed a 3-year partnership to support Uganda’s national basketball teams – the Silverbacks (Senior Men) and the Gazelles (Senior Women).
The agreement will see betPawa cover a range of critical costs for the management and operations of the two national teams, including: Team training, Travel and accommodation for tournaments, Medical insurance, Supplements.
This sponsorship deal is expected to strengthen the preparations and competitiveness of the Silverbacks and Gazelles as they continue to represent Uganda on the continental and global stages.
The partnership is part of betPawa’s broader strategy to invest in the development of the sports ecosystem across East Africa, with previous initiatives in football, cricket, and other popular disciplines.
Uganda Basketball Federation President Jane Smith welcomed the deal, stating that the support from betPawa will enable the national team players to focus on their performance and achieve new levels of success.
This sponsorship aligns with betPawa’s overall goal of contributing to the growth and development of the sports sector as a whole in the region.
