Botswana Gambling Authority Appoints Tshepang as New CFO

The Board of the Gambling Authority is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Tshepang Magang as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective immediately. Ms. Magang is an accomplished finance, audit, and corporate governance professional with over 15 years of progressive leadership experience spanning financial management, auditing, strategic planning, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

Her appointment reflects the Authority’s commitment to strengthening its financial sustainability and governance while supporting the Authority’s long-term financial and operational objectives. Ms. Magang holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the European Business University (Luxembourg) and is a Fellow Member of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) with a Practicing Certificate.

She also holds other professional certifications in governance, risk management, and leadership, positioning her well to drive sound financial stewardship and innovation. Since joining the Gambling Authority, Ms. Magang has distinguished herself through strong strategic leadership and exemplary financial discipline.

Under her stewardship, the Finance and Corporate Affairs Department has strengthened financial controls, improved governance and accountability, enhanced financial reporting, and reinforced prudent resource management, all in support of the Authority’s broader mandate.

Prior to joining the Authority, Ms. Magang built a strong professional foundation in both the public and private sectors. This experience has equipped her with extensive knowledge in financial management, governance frameworks, and the implementation of best-practice financial systems.

Throughout her tenure at the Gambling Authority, Ms. Magang has been instrumental in strengthening financial governance structures, enhancing board committee reporting through robust financial board reports to the Authority’s board committees, improving cost controls to safeguard operations, and advancing the Authority to the next growth and compliance-focused phase.

At Chartered Financial Services, Ms. Magang will serve as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and will be responsible for providing strategic financial direction to the organisation. Her work will be instrumental in ensuring prudent resource management, budgeting, risk management, and overall cost efficiencies, while upholding the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and financial governance.
