The Gambling Authority of Botswana’s Board and Executive Management convened in Kasane from September 10 to 11, 2026, for a high-level executive intensive focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, and digital governance.

The engagement was facilitated by Tichaona Zororo of Enterprise Governance of IT (EGIT) and explored the evolving technological landscape of the gaming industry and its implications for regulatory oversight.

The session focused on strengthening leadership capacity in managing complex digital risks, information security, and responsible technological innovation.

The Authority said the engagement was aimed at future-proofing its regulatory oversight as technology continues to transform the gaming industry. It also sought to reinforce governance frameworks to ensure they remain robust, forward-looking, and aligned with the demands of an increasingly digital gaming ecosystem.

Through the executive engagement, the Gambling Authority reaffirmed the importance of effective digital governance, cybersecurity awareness, and responsible technology adoption in supporting modern and resilient gaming regulation.

The initiative reflects the Authority’s continued focus on strengthening its governance capabilities as Botswana’s gaming industry adapts to emerging digital technologies.
