The Gambling Authority and the Lotteries Board of Namibia have officially signed a groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), establishing a new standard for regional cooperation in gaming regulation.
The MoU was finalized during a high-level bilateral visit held in Gaborone. The aim is to enhance collaboration in regulatory policy, responsible gambling, and innovative gaming oversight. The agreement paves the way for several future initiatives, including:
- Joint Training Programs: To enhance the skills of regulatory staff and promote best practices in gaming oversight.
- Public Awareness Campaigns: To educate players about responsible gambling and the resources available for those seeking help.
- Research Collaborations: To study the impacts of gaming on society and develop data-driven policies that benefit both players and the industry.Both authorities reaffirm their commitment to responsible gaming, recognizing the importance of protecting vulnerable populations.
