The Gambling Board of Namibia has issued a public notice reminding all Casino, Gambling House, Bar, and Shebeen Gambling License holders to ensure the timely payment of all outstanding gambling levies and regulatory fees. This notice, issued by Johannes Erastus, Acting Chief Executive Officer, on 23 January 2026, is part of the Board’s ongoing efforts to enhance compliance and maintain transparency in Namibia’s regulated gambling sector.

This notice is issued in accordance with the Gaming and Entertainment Control Act, 2018 (Act No. 13 of 2018), specifically citing Sections 61 and 62, as well as Regulations 25 and 29 of the Gambling and Gambling Activities Regulations. The Board emphasizes that timely payment of gambling levies and fees is mandatory for all licensed operators. Such payments are crucial for supporting regulatory oversight, maintaining industry integrity, and ensuring the sustainable development of Namibia’s gambling sector.

All license holders are required to settle any outstanding gambling levies and fees, which should be calculated based on either the date when the license was issued or the date of the last payment made. Additionally, license holders must complete and submit a levy remittance form to the Gambling Board detailing their monthly net income along with applicable gambling levies and fees, supported by all relevant documentation.

Licence holders have until 30 April 2026 to complete all outstanding payments and submit the required forms. The Board warns that failure to comply within this timeframe may result in immediate disciplinary action, which may include punitive measures, penalties, suspension, or withdrawal of gambling licences in accordance with applicable legislation and regulatory frameworks.

The Gambling Board highlights that compliance with levy payments is essential for maintaining a fair and accountable gambling industry.
