The latest audited financial statements reveal that KGL Technology Limited paid GH¢157 million to the Ghana Lottery Authority in 2024 as part of its financial commitment for the fiscal year.

This single payment far exceeds any annual revenue the NLA had previously generated from its traditional lottery operations before partnering with KGL.

The milestone marks the continuation of a rapidly growing partnership that began in 2020 with an initial contribution of GH¢20 million.

Strengthening Ghana Lottery Sector

In addition to its direct payment to the NLA, KGL’s digital lottery operations contributed GH¢87 million in taxes to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and paid out a record GH¢2 billion in winnings to Ghanaian lottery players.

These figures firmly position the KGL–NLA partnership as one of the most successful digital public-private ventures in Ghana. It showcases how technology and private sector efficiency can significantly boost government revenue while modernising the country’s lottery industry.

The collaboration also aligns with broader efforts to modernise Ghana’s lottery infrastructure — an initiative recently reinforced by the NLA’s leadership visit to China to explore technology exchange opportunities.
