The Limpopo Gambling Board (LGB) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting vulnerable communities across Limpopo Province through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programme.
The programme recently provided vital support to several organizations and beneficiaries working to improve the lives of disadvantaged communities. The initiatives were officiated by the MEC for Social Development in Limpopo, Honourable Ms Fulufhelo Florence Radzilani.
As part of the programme, the LGB supported The Eye of the Nation with gender-based violence (GBV) awareness materials valued at R150,795. The materials will support campaigns aimed at raising awareness about GBV and strengthening efforts to educate and protect vulnerable members of the community.
The LGB also donated 19 wheelchairs valued at R140,400 to the KG Maluleke Memorial Disability Integration Organization. The donation is intended to support young people from disadvantaged backgrounds who are unable to afford essential mobility aids, helping to promote greater independence and inclusion.
Support was also extended to Ntodeni Secondary School in Gaba Village, where a learner living with a disability received a wheelchair. The intervention has provided much-needed relief to the learner and the wider school community, as the learner previously depended on teachers and fellow learners for mobility.
In addition, the Khomotsong Care center for the Disabled in Zebediela received wheelchairs through the LGB’s CSR Programme. The mobility aids were handed over during Mandela Day celebrations, providing residents with greater independence and improving their ability to participate in daily activities.
The LGB said these initiatives form part of its broader commitment to using its CSR programme to make a meaningful difference in communities across Limpopo. Through its continued support for vulnerable groups, the Board aims to promote dignity, inclusion and improved quality of life while contributing to community development.
The LGB reaffirmed that its CSR initiatives will continue to focus on supporting disadvantaged communities and organizations working to address social challenges across Limpopo Province.
