LONACI (National Lottery of Côte d’Ivoire) General director, Dramane Coulibaly, announced on Tuesday, February 20, that the organization has set a commercial objective of 545 billion CFA Francs for the 2024 financial year. Speaking during the traditional New Year’s press lunch held at the Azalaï hotel in Abidjan Marcory, Coulibaly highlighted the achievements of the previous year, stating that the turnover in 2023 amounted to 488.22 billion FCFA.

“We are targeting a commercial objective of 545 billion CFA Francs for the 2024 financial year,” said Dramane Coulibaly, LONACI’s general director.

The significant growth in turnover allowed LONACI to distribute 326.29 billion FCFA as winnings to the winners, surpassing the 259 billion FCFA distributed in 2022. Commissions paid to distribution network partners reached 47.52 billion FCFA.

LONACI has also made substantial contributions to the financing of the State budget, with a fee payment amounting to 13.51 billion FCFA, compared to 11.5 billion FCFA in 2022. The budget allocated to social achievements, managed by the Lonaci Foundation, increased to 4.3 billion FCFA from 3.6 billion FCFA in 2022.

Coulibaly emphasized the importance of new regulations established by the State of Côte d’Ivoire, which aim to intensify the fight against unauthorized games of chance and betting activities. “These new texts are important. Indeed, they will intensify the fight against games of chance and betting unauthorized by LONACI,” he noted.

In terms of quality management, LONACI successfully underwent Follow-up Audit No. 1 conducted by CERTI-TRUST in November. This achievement allows the company to retain its ISO 9001:2015 certification. LONACI aims to obtain the ISO 27 001 certification for information security in the current year.

LONACI has also made changes to its commercial operations, transitioning from credit sales to a prepaid system. This shift is expected to reduce the risk of non-payment by concessionaires.

The organization is also focused on strengthening its real estate assets, with the construction of new agencies in Yamoussoukro and Biétry (Marcory). Additionally, an audiovisual complex is being built in Biétry, which will house STUDIOS LONACI.

Dramane Coulibaly’s achievements and leadership have been recognized at an international level. In addition to his presidency of the African Lottery Association (ALA), he has been appointed to the Executive Council of the World Lottery Association (WLA) as the representative of Africa. “This is an honor that we owe in large part to the positive image that our country enjoys in the world,” Coulibaly stated.

The National Lottery of Côte d’Ivoire (LONACI) is poised for a successful year ahead, with ambitious targets and a commitment to innovation and responsible gaming.
