LONACI Steps Up Quality Controls Ahead of ISO Certification Review

The National Lottery of Côte d’Ivoire (LONACI) has launched a new internal audit of its quality management system as part of efforts to maintain its ISO 9001:2015 certification and strengthen operational standards across the organization.

The audit commenced on 12 October 2026 at the company’s headquarters in Marcory and is scheduled to continue until 16 October. The exercise is being led by Deputy General Director Abdoulkarim Ouattara, with support from external consulting firm Amiral Consulting.

The assessment aims to evaluate the effectiveness of LONACI’s internal processes, verify compliance with applicable requirements and identify opportunities for improvement to ensure the continued delivery of quality services.

According to Ouattara, LONACI has conducted its internal audits using in-house resources since 2024, following a directive from Director General Dramane Coulibaly. The company has now engaged external expertise to further strengthen its controls and ensure that its procedures remain aligned with current standards.

Amiral Consulting’s involvement is intended to assess the rigor of existing controls, reinforce procedural compliance and help prevent any decline in the implementation of established quality management practices.

Ouattara emphasized that maintaining ISO 9001:2015 certification goes beyond meeting the requirements for certification. He noted that the broader objective is to ensure that quality management principles are effectively integrated into the company’s daily operations and that progress already achieved is sustained.

The audit team also highlighted the importance of viewing the exercise as a tool for organizational development rather than a punitive inspection. Auditor Vamara Koné, accompanied by Yaya Touré, encouraged those involved to approach the process as an opportunity to identify improvements and strengthen overall performance.

Following the review of quality policies and internal procedures at the headquarters, the auditors are expected to extend their assessment to LONACI’s agencies in Plateau, Aboisso, Yamoussoukro and Bouaké.

The exercise forms part of LONACI’s ongoing efforts under the leadership of Coulibaly to reinforce quality standards, promote regulatory compliance and support continuous improvement throughout its operations.

Through the audit, the national lottery operator aims to preserve the effectiveness of its quality management system while strengthening operational consistency and the standard of services provided to its stakeholders.
