The National Lottery of Guinea (LONAGUI) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting education and youth development through the latest edition of its LONAGUI Scholarship programme, a key initiative under the organization’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy.

Launched in 2023, the LONAGUI Scholarship programme aims to promote academic excellence among young Guineans by helping remove financial barriers to higher education.

For the 2025–2027 academic cycle, LONAGUI received nearly 392 applications from across Guinea. Following a public and transparent selection draw, 16 young Guineans were selected to benefit from the scholarship programme.

Under the initiative, LONAGUI will cover the beneficiaries’ registration and tuition fees throughout their Master 1 and Master 2 programmes. The selected students will also receive a bursary to provide additional financial support and enable them to focus fully on their studies.

Commenting on the initiative, LONAGUI Director General Mohamed Baba Sylla emphasized the importance of education in Guinea’s long-term development. “Education remains the surest of our riches. This is how we will build a stronger Guinea, capable of meeting the challenges of tomorrow.”

The scholarship programme forms part of LONAGUI’s broader efforts to invest in young people and contribute to the country’s social and economic development. Through the initiative, the organization seeks to transform a portion of the revenue generated from its lottery activities into tangible opportunities for the next generation of Guinean professionals, including future engineers, executives and national leaders.

LONAGUI said the scholarship programme reflects its belief that talent is widespread, but access to educational opportunities is not always equal. By providing financial assistance to high-achieving students, the organisation aims to help more young Guineans pursue advanced education and contribute meaningfully to the country’s future.
