The National Lottery of Niger (LONANI) is gearing up for a major transformation in 2026. Under the leadership of Director-General Colonel Major Soumana Djibo, the organization is prioritizing digital expansion and broader nationwide accessibility.
Financial Growth and Modernization
This strategic shift follows a 35% increase in revenue from 2023 to 2024. Furthermore, projections for 2025 estimate revenue will reach nearly FCFA97 billion (€148m).
To support this growth, LONANI is investing heavily in modernizing its operations. Key initiatives include:
- Upgrading retail outlets.
- Enhancing security measures.
- Training staff for digital platforms.
- Deploying solar-powered kiosks and improved infrastructure.
Expanding the Digital Footprint
Currently, LONANI only offers Parifoot online. However, the lottery plans to introduce additional digital games as part of its new strategy.
By leveraging insights from regional benchmarking, the organization aims to improve transparency, reach, and competitiveness in the market.
Social Impact and Regional Influence
LONANI aims to do more than just surpass revenue targets. The lottery is committed to expanding access across Niger and enhancing its social impact. Currently, the organization contributes over FCFA5bn (€7.6m) monthly to education, health, and community projects.
Additionally, hosting the 2026 cross-border TCE lottery will bolster Niger’s regional profile. As the year progresses, executing this digital strategy will be key to shaping the future of Niger’s gaming industry.
