The Senegalese National Lottery (LONASE) has taken another major step in its digital transformation with the launch of LPbet, a new online gaming and sports betting platform designed to strengthen its position in the country’s increasingly competitive digital betting market.
Officially unveiled in Dakar by LONASE Director General Toussaint Manga, the platform is being positioned as a key pillar of the lottery’s digital sovereignty strategy. Accessible via both mobile devices and computers, LPbet offers a seamless and transparent betting experience, supported by multiple mobile payment options tailored to users’ everyday habits.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, attended by LONASE executives, technical partners, and invited guests, Manga described LPbet as “a new digital platform for games and entertainment powered by LONASE, designed by Senegalese and for the Senegalese.”
He explained that the launch builds on the organization’s broader modernization strategy as it adapts to the rapid evolution of the gaming and sports betting industry.
“After the launch of LONASE Way, we are now taking a new step in strengthening LONASE’s digital sovereignty in the field of gambling and predictions,” Manga said.
He also commended the teams behind the project and thanked technical partner Betting Partners for its contribution to developing the platform. According to Christopher Sevilla, Chairman and CEO of Betting Partners, LPbet is intended to provide Senegalese bettors with a credible, locally managed alternative to the many international operators that currently dominate the online betting market.
“Our ambition is not to attract new audiences to gambling,” Sevilla said. “Instead, we want to offer players who are already active a national, regulated, responsible and more beneficial alternative for the country.”
He added that the project aims to retain more of the revenue generated by online betting within Senegal. “We want to help bring back to LONASE part of the value that currently flows through foreign digital platforms so it can be better managed, better regulated and directed towards the country’s development,” he said.
Sevilla revealed that more than 25 specialists contributed to the platform’s development, covering areas including user experience (UX), design, cybersecurity, and the adaptation of content to reflect Senegalese cultural realities. Fatima Zahra Gadio, Director of the LONASE Partners Unit, described LPbet as more than just another betting platform, calling it a reflection of the organization’s broader digital transformation.
“LPbet is not just another platform. It symbolizes our ambition to build a relationship of trust with users through a modern, innovative and responsible offering,” she said.
Gadio added that the project was delivered through close collaboration built on professionalism, mutual trust, and a shared commitment to excellence.
LPbet plans to gradually introduce new gaming options, exclusive promotional offers, and advanced technological features as part of its strategy to strengthen its position in Senegal’s online betting market. Through these initiatives, LONASE hopes to provide bettors with a secure, user-friendly digital experience while enhancing the competitiveness of its public platform against international operators.
