The National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB) has partnered with Butabika National Referral Hospital for a major public awareness campaign. As part of the initiative, the two organizations conducted an outreach event at Nakawa Market in Kampala. Their goal was to educate market vendors, customers, and the general public on safe and responsible gaming practices.

The outreach also addressed the rising issue of underage online betting. With digital platforms becoming more accessible, officials urged parents and guardians to monitor their children’s online behavior carefully. Under Ugandan law, gaming is strictly restricted to individuals aged 25 years and older.

Finally, the team reassured traders that support systems are available. They encouraged anyone facing gaming-related challenges to seek professional help early. This collaboration is part of the Board’s broader strategy to foster a safe gaming environment across Uganda.
