The National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB), led by Operations Manager Mr. Stephen Tabaruka, recently held an engaging meeting with media stakeholders in Western Uganda. This meeting reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to collaboration, transparency, and responsible regulation in the gaming industry.

During the discussion, Mr. Tabaruka emphasized the critical role of the media in shaping public awareness about gaming. He encouraged media partners to actively support the fight against underage gaming, promote responsible gaming practices, and create platforms that highlight ethical and compliant operators. He stressed that effective media participation is essential for the safe and sustainable development of the gaming sector.

Mr. Dickson Nandinda from Radio West, representing the Western Uganda media fraternity, praised the NLGRB for extending its outreach efforts to the region. He pointed out that such engagements not only strengthen public trust but also enhance player protection, improve compliance monitoring, and expand communication channels especially through local languages that resonate with communities.

The stakeholder session concluded with a guided tour of the newly established NLGRB Regional Offices in Mbarara. This development marks a significant milestone in bringing regulatory services closer to the public and demonstrates the Board’s commitment to decentralization and regional presence.

Through these efforts, the NLGRB continues to promote collaboration, strengthen oversight, and ensure a safe, fair, and responsible gaming environment for all Ugandans.
