A parliamentary aspirant from the National Unity Platform (NUP) has reportedly won over UGX 300 million through fixed sports betting games facilitated by the Uganda Bettors Association, following his defeat in the recent general elections. For security reasons, the aspirant’s identity has been withheld. He revealed that he turned to betting after experiencing significant financial losses during what he described as a flawed electoral process.
“I invested heavily in my campaign with hopes of securing a parliamentary seat. Unfortunately, I was rigged by the NRM, which not only cost me the election but also left me financially drained,” he shared. The former candidate mentioned that the campaign pushed him into serious debt, leaving him with few options for recovery.
“I borrowed large sums of money to fund the campaign, and at one point, the bank was close to repossessing my property. A close friend then introduced me to sports betting specifically fixed games as a possible way out. I was initially hesitant since I had no prior experience, but he convinced me to try,” he explained.
He contacted the Uganda Bettors Association through its official website to seek guidance on participating. “They assured me of professional support and helped me place my bets. After paying the required subscription fee and submitting my stake, they sent me a betting ticket. Later that night, I received a call confirming that I had won. I shared my bank details, and within 72 hours, the money was deposited into my account,” he recounted.
The aspirant expressed gratitude to the association, crediting it with helping him overcome his financial difficulties. “Without their support, I would still be struggling with bank loans and the risk of losing my property. I am deeply thankful for the assistance they provided,” he added. The Uganda Bettors Association has grown in popularity among betting enthusiasts over the years, with many Ugandans claiming the platform has helped them improve their financial standing through sports betting tips and fixed games.
