Odibets: Empowering Communities Through Sustainable CSR Initiatives

Odibets, a leading betting company known for its commitment to community upliftment, has once again demonstrated its dedication to corporate social responsibility (CSR) through a noteworthy initiative. Under its Odi Mtaani program, the company has embarked on a mission to enhance the living standards of communities by providing essential services and resources. One such initiative took place at St Joseph Girls National School in Chepterit, Nandi County.

Supporting Education and Community Development

As part of the Odi Mtaani program, Odibets has announced the drilling of a new borehole at St Joseph Girls National School, addressing the school’s imminent water source relocation challenge. In addition, the company distributed sanitary towels and assorted foodstuffs to the students and nearby residents. Dedan Mungai, the General Manager at Odibets, emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting communities across Kenya in line with the CSR obligations outlined by the government and the Betting Control and Licensing Board (BCLB).

“Our support spans various sectors, including education and commercial ventures, as mandated by BCLB,” Mungai stated during the launch.

How Odibets is Transforming the Lives of Ordinary Kenyans

Gratitude and Recognition

The timely borehole project at St Joseph Girls National School was met with deep gratitude from the school’s alumna, Margaret Koskei, who acknowledged the critical importance of the initiative. The BCLB Chairperson, Rev (DR) Jane Mwikali Makau, also commended Odibets for its exemplary adherence to CSR guidelines and its role as a responsible corporate citizen.

“Their donation of boreholes to schools exemplifies responsible corporate citizenship,” Dr. Makau highlighted, urging other betting operators to follow Odibets’ lead in embracing social responsibility.

Sustained Impact and Community Development

The recent CSR initiative in Nandi County is part of Odibets’ broader strategy to foster community development and create a positive social impact throughout Kenya. This initiative follows the successful launch of a significant water project in Makueni County, further solidifying the company’s commitment to contributing to Kenyan communities.

By fulfilling its CSR obligations, Odibets not only supports the well-being of communities but also strengthens its connection with them, setting an example for other corporations to emulate.

Through the Odi Mtaani program, Odibets demonstrates its genuine commitment to making a difference in the lives of Kenyans, particularly those in underserved communities. By prioritizing water access, hygiene, and basic needs, the company plays a vital role in improving living conditions and supporting the country’s development goals.

As Odibets continues to expand its CSR initiatives, the positive impact of its actions is expected to extend far beyond the immediate beneficiaries, contributing to a brighter future for Kenya as a whole.
