The Royal Society of Horse Encouragement (SOREC), in collaboration with the Association of Lotteries of Africa (ALA), successfully organized the 4th edition of the PMU African Grand Prix in Casablanca, Morocco.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. Ahmed El Bouari, the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests of Morocco. During the opening ceremony, Mr. Dramane Coulibaly, President of the ALA and Director General of LONACI, welcomed international gambling stakeholders in attendance before officially inaugurating the 2025 edition of the Grand Prix.
After his speech, participants explored various booths showcasing innovations in the gambling and horse racing sectors, followed by a press statement highlighting the event’s significance. In his remarks, Mr. Coulibaly emphasized the importance of this edition, stating, “The African Grand Prix illustrates the vitality of the partnership between ALA and SOREC and confirms Morocco’s foundational role on the continent. This edition reflects our shared ambition to drive innovation and transformation in African lotteries, fostering a modern and responsible gaming experience.”
The second day was dedicated to showcasing products and services from key partners, including EDITEC, SHARP, PMU, IN TOUCH, and KGL GROUP. The highlight was a seminar titled “New Challenges of Distribution for Better Customer Experience,” attended by delegations from ALA member countries. Industry experts discussed emerging trends, technologies, and strategies to enhance customer engagement and satisfaction in the lottery and horse racing sectors.
The event was all about the races, featuring a variety of prestigious competitions with numerous prizes on the line, including the African Grand Prix, the SOREC, PMU, PGI, African Brotherhood, City of the Horse, ALA, and the Jockeys School Award.
This exciting day showcased the talent and dedication of participants, culminating in a thrilling atmosphere as winners were celebrated for their achievements in the competitions. The event not only highlighted the spirit of competition but also reinforced the commitment to excellence within the African horse racing community.
Among the notable winners, Mr. Bendia Redouane took home the ALA Award, while Mr. Madihi Zouhair triumphed in the African Grand Prix 2025. The event ended with a trophy presentation ceremony led by Mr. Coulibaly, celebrating the achievements of the participants and the spirit of competition.
