A 26-year-old sports betting enthusiast from Outapi has won more than N$1.2 million after turning a N$1 online football wager into a life-changing payout. Eliakim Hadula secured the remarkable win over the weekend after placing a multibet on the Castlebet Namibia platform using his mobile phone.

The bet, placed shortly after midnight on Saturday at 00:27, required him to correctly predict 23 football match outcomes across several major leagues. The matches included fixtures involving top European clubs such as Chelsea, Barcelona, Juventus, and Manchester City. According to Castlebet Namibia, the complexity and number of selections significantly increased the overall odds of the wager.

Speaking after receiving his winnings, Hadula said his selections were based on football knowledge rather than chance. He explained that he considered not only match winners but also specific outcomes such as games ending with over 2.5 goals. “I relied on my understanding of the game to make my predictions. It was not random guessing but careful analysis of the matches,” he said.

Hadula added that he joined the platform in 2023 after receiving a free bet and has since recorded several smaller wins. He expressed surprise at the magnitude of his latest success, adding that it confirms his belief that consistent engagement can yield results. “I can confirm Castlebet is legitimate. I have seen the winnings firsthand. It shows that winning is possible,” he said.

The winner plans to use the funds to further his education and support his future personal development. Castlebet Namibia spokesperson David Agusto confirmed the win, noting that the bet was placed through Hadula’s online account. He said the combination of 23 correct predictions created exceptionally high odds, calculated at approximately 1,224,107 to 1. Agusto explained that while multibet selections increase potential payouts, they also require a high level of accuracy, making such wins rare.

He praised Hadula’s achievement, describing it as evidence of strong analytical understanding of football outcomes. “To achieve such a result with so many correct predictions demonstrate considerable insight into the game,” he said. Following the win, Hadula travelled to Windhoek on Sunday, where he was officially presented with his winnings at a ceremony held at a local hotel.

The presentation included a symbolic cheque, celebratory champagne, and recognition from the company. Castlebet Namibia also organized a financial guidance session for the winner to support responsible management of his earnings.
