The National Lottery Authority (NLA), in partnership with the Concerned Lotto Agents Association of Ghana (CLAAG), has announced the commencement of a nationwide compliance exercise aimed at ensuring all licensed Private Lotto Operators (PLOs), agents, and writers adhere to the Authority’s mandatory registration requirements.
The compliance exercise follows the expiration of the registration extension period and will involve dedicated NLA Compliance Teams conducting visits to verify that agents and writers operating under NLA-licensed Private Lotto Operators have completed the required registration process.
According to the Authority, all registered agents and writers who have fulfilled the registration and payment requirements are required to prominently display their official registration stickers on their kiosks or lottery sales containers. The stickers will serve as proof of compliance and enable both players and NLA Compliance Officers to easily verify legitimate operators.
The NLA warned that any agent or writer found operating without completing the mandatory registration process will not be permitted to sell lotto or lottery products in Ghana and will face the full sanctions prescribed by law.
The Authority reiterated its enforcement message with the slogan: “No Sticker, No Sales!”, emphasizing that only duly registered and verified operators will be allowed to continue lottery sales across the country.
The National Lottery Authority said the compliance exercise forms part of its broader efforts to strengthen regulatory oversight, promote transparency within Ghana’s lottery sector, and protect the integrity of lottery operations.
