Ghana’s National Lottery Authority (NLA) has received formal recognition from the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) for its support of the College’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
On September 17, representatives from GAFCSC visited the NLA headquarters as part of a broader appreciation programme for organizations that contributed to activities marking the Golden Jubilee.
Colonel Bernard Baah-Acheamfour, Director of Corporate Affairs at GAFCSC, attended on behalf of Commandant Major General Jackson Wonje. He presented the NLA with a letter of appreciation, a commemorative plaque, copies of The Flame Magazine and African Journal, along with souvenirs produced for the College’s 50th anniversary.
Receiving the recognition on behalf of the NLA, Director-General Mohammed Abdul-Salam expressed gratitude to GAFCSC for acknowledging the Authority’s contribution to the milestone celebrations. The NLA was one of three organizations visited by the College delegation that day, alongside Irani Brothers & Others Ltd and the National Petroleum Authority (NPA).
The Golden Jubilee celebrated five decades of professional military education, leadership development, and service by GAFCSC to Ghana, Africa, and the wider international community.
Colonel Baah-Acheamfour highlighted the importance of corporate partnerships in supporting the anniversary programme, noting that collaboration between the College and both private and public-sector organizations contributed to the successful delivery of its activities.
GAFCSC also reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening relationships with corporate partners and other stakeholders as it continues supporting leadership development and national progress.
The recognition also comes as the NLA advances efforts to strengthen Ghana’s lottery sector and deepen its engagement with industry stakeholders. Among its ongoing projects is the development of a performance-linked support and reward framework for Lotto Marketing Companies. The Authority is also working to deploy 5,000 point-of-sale (POS) terminals through its partnership with Fidelity Bank.
In addition, the NLA is participating in World Lottery Association training on responsible gaming and corporate social responsibility. The programme supports the Authority’s efforts to work toward Level 2 certification.
Overall, the GAFCSC recognition reflects the NLA’s broader stakeholder engagement and underscores how institutional partnerships continue to support initiatives that extend beyond the lottery sector.
