The Institute for Gambling Supervision (ISJ) and the National Children’s Institute (INAC) have strengthened their commitment to protecting minors from the risks associated with gambling by exploring closer institutional cooperation.
The development follows a working meeting between officials from both institutions, including INAC Director-General Paulo Kalesi, ISJ Deputy Director-General Cláudio Paulo, and Afonso Silva, Head of the Department of Supervision at ISJ.
The meeting provided an opportunity for the institutions to identify areas of common interest and establish the foundations for greater collaboration in preventing children and adolescents from accessing gambling activities.
A key focus of the proposed cooperation is to strengthen prevention and awareness initiatives addressing minors’ exposure to gambling and other circumstances that could facilitate their access to the activity.
The institutions also plan to develop joint awareness campaigns, share relevant information and establish mechanisms for closer institutional coordination. These measures are intended to support a more coordinated approach to protecting children and adolescents from gambling-related risks.
ISJ and INAC reaffirmed the importance of joint, preventive and responsible action, placing the protection of minors at the center of their institutional priorities.
