The Burkinabé National Lottery (LONAB) has officially handed over a cheque of 83,371,500 CFA francs to Idrissa KABORE, the winner of the 4+1 draw from the Burkinabé Mutuel Parie (PMU).
The handover ceremony took place at LONAB headquarters under the chairmanship of its Director General, Comrade Ibrahim Ben Harouna ZARANI, who was accompanied by close associates.
KABORE, a LONAB bettor since 1999, received the cheque with great emotion after winning 83,371,500 CFA francs in the 4+1 draw held on October 6, 2026.
The professional plumber became a millionaire after placing a 10,200 CFA franc bet and successfully predicting the winning combination.
In his remarks, LONAB Director General Ibrahim Ben Harouna ZARANI warmly congratulated the winner and expressed hope that the prize would positively transform his life and that of his family.
He also encouraged KABORE to manage the money responsibly by prioritizing investments capable of generating sustainable income.
According to ZARANI, the ceremony further demonstrates the credibility, transparency, and reliability of the games marketed by LONAB. He added that the handover reaffirms the lottery’s commitment to honoring its obligations to winners.
For Comrade Gwladys YAMEOGO, Director of the LONAB Exploitation Center, the best way to extend the benefits of a major win is to put the money to productive use.
“A win of this importance is a real opportunity, but it must be managed with great discretion,” she said.
YAMEOGO also announced upcoming games being offered by LONAB in partnership with its counterparts from the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).
She invited the public to look forward to the AES Confederate Draw, which offers an exceptional prize of 150 million CFA francs through PMU on Thursday, October 15, 2026.
She also highlighted the Tranche Commune Entente (TCE) draw, with Faso Loto draws scheduled for October 7, 14, 21, and 28, 2026. The winner, meanwhile, expressed his gratitude to God and LONAB for the life-changing prize.
“I thank the Almighty and LONAB for this gain. It is a great joy for me and an opportunity that will allow me to realize several of my projects. I will strengthen my plumbing business, also invest in other promising fields and take care of my family. I want to use this money in a useful way so that it can truly improve my future,” KABORE said.
