Betika DRC has donated sports equipment to 74 football clubs across Kinshasa ahead of the 2026–2027 season. The initiative is part of the company’s efforts to support grassroots football and improve conditions for local players and officials.
The equipment was presented at a handover ceremony on October 16, 2026, at the CEPAS meeting hall in Kinshasa. Betika DRC says the donation is intended to ease the financial pressure on community clubs and help them prepare for competitive matches.
The donation supports clubs affiliated with three football associations in Kinshasa. The Entente Provinciale de Football de Kinshasa (EPFKIN) received equipment for 34 clubs, while EUFKIN/Lipopo and EUFKIN/Lukunga each received support for 20 clubs.
EPFKIN received 1,923 football jerseys, intended to provide two sets per team, as well as 12 competition footballs per club. Its allocation also included 12 goal nets, 40 pairs of goalkeeper gloves, 70 Fox 80 referee whistles and 10 sets of referee cards.
EUFKIN/Lukunga received 800 jerseys, four goal nets, 40 pairs of goalkeeper gloves and 20 referee whistles. EUFKIN/Lipopo received 12 goal nets, 40 pairs of goalkeeper gloves, 20 Fox 80 referee whistles and 10 sets of referee cards.
The equipment is expected to help clubs prepare for the new season and support their training and match-day operations. In addition to the equipment donation, Betika DRC has committed to covering league participation fees for member clubs of the local football associations.
The assistance is intended to ease the costs of registration and competition, which can be difficult for grassroots teams to meet. Reducing those expenses may help clubs focus more on player development, training and participation in organized competitions.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Betika DRC Director General Gireesh Devjani Kumar reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting football and creating opportunities for local sporting communities.
He highlighted football’s role in bringing communities together, nurturing young talent and encouraging participation. Kumar also reminded attendees that sports betting should be treated as entertainment for adults, not as a dependable source of income.
Representatives of the local football community welcomed the contribution as valuable support for clubs preparing for the coming season. The ceremony brought together football administrators and sporting officials, including the president of the National Football League (LINAFOOT).
Alain Kanga, president of EUFKIN/Lukunga, acknowledged the financial challenges grassroots clubs face when organizing and taking part in local competitions. He welcomed Betika DRC’s involvement and the role of private-sector support in helping clubs meet their operational needs.
As clubs across Kinshasa prepare for the 2026–2027 season, many rely on external partnerships to meet essential costs. Betika DRC’s donation is intended to help the 74 beneficiary clubs maintain their activities and create opportunities for aspiring footballers.
The initiative also highlights how partnerships between businesses and sporting associations can help community clubs access equipment and other resources that might otherwise be difficult to obtain.
