Bet1Cent to Exit Uganda’s Betting Market by December 2026

Bet1Cent is preparing to exit Uganda after its parent company, Geefy Entertainment SMC Limited, informed the National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB) that it plans to discontinue its general betting operations in the country.

The withdrawal is scheduled to take effect on December 31, 2026. In a public notice issued on October 29, the NLGRB said it had made the announcement under its mandate in Section 4(j) of the Lotteries and Gaming Act, Cap. 334.

The Board advised customers with Bet1Cent accounts to complete any outstanding transactions before the deadline. Bettors should withdraw available funds, resolve pending wagers and check that any outstanding balances have been reconciled.

The notice also informs Bet1Cent’s business partners and other industry stakeholders of the company’s planned departure.
