The National Lottery of Côte d’Ivoire (LONACI) has allocated CFA 60 million to 15 sports clubs as part of its annual initiative to support grassroots sports development and nurture emerging athletic talent.

The funding was announced during a ceremony held on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at the LONACI Studios in Marcory-Biétry, where representatives of the beneficiary clubs met with LONACI leadership. Each of the 15 clubs received CFA 4 million to support their training and development programmes.

The latest allocation represents an expansion of LONACI’s support, increasing the number of beneficiary structures from seven to 15. The initiative is intended to extend assistance to more clubs working to develop young athletes, particularly those operating with limited resources.

During the ceremony, LONACI’s leadership emphasized that the funding should be used to improve training conditions, strengthen athlete preparation and support the development of sporting talent.

The organization also reaffirmed its commitment to creating opportunities for young people, noting that a country’s sporting achievements depend partly on the support provided to clubs and training structures responsible for nurturing future athletes.

LONACI expressed hope that the funding would help the beneficiary clubs improve their programmes, reach new milestones and develop athletes capable of representing Côte d’Ivoire in future competitions.

Through the initiative, the national lottery operator continues to demonstrate its support for grassroots sports and the development of the country’s next generation of sporting talent.
