AiA and GRAF Collaborate to Shape Africa’s iGaming Future

AiA and GRAF collaboration

The African iGaming Alliance (AiA) was honored to co-host the Africa Regulators’ Leadership Networking Event at GRAF 2025, in partnership with the Gaming Regulators Africa Forum (GRAF). This flagship gathering brought together senior regulators, policymakers, and industry leaders from across the continent to engage in high-level discussions aimed at strengthening cooperation and shaping the future of Africa’s rapidly growing iGaming landscape.

The event served as an important platform for aligning priorities, sharing regulatory insights, and discussing emerging challenges in this dynamic market. During the event, AiA CEO Peter Emolemo Kesitilwe delivered a keynote address emphasizing the Alliance’s commitment to building a safer, more sustainable, and well-regulated industry.

His remarks focused on championing responsible gaming with a greater emphasis on player protection and harm-prevention tools, promoting sustainable tax frameworks that support national development while fostering industry growth, strengthening enforcement efforts to curb illegal and unlicensed operators, and advancing regulatory alignment and evidence-based policymaking across African jurisdictions.

As an industry body representing licensed operators across 20+ African markets, AiA is dedicated to advocating for a transparent and trusted iGaming environment. Its members collectively contribute over USD 500 million annually in taxes and support more than 5,000 jobs, underscoring the sector’s growing economic importance to the continent.

AiA extends its appreciation to GRAF leadership and all participating regulators for their collaboration and shared commitment. Together, AiA and GRAF are working to shape a responsible, future-ready regulatory ecosystem that supports innovation, consumer protection, and sustainable growth across Africa’s iGaming sector.
