The Angola Gaming Regulator (ISJ), in partnership with the Capital Market Commission (CMC), held a workshop on Friday, August 7, focused on the framework governing gaming activities in Angola.
The workshop was designed for CMC staff and aimed to strengthen their understanding of Angola’s gaming sector. It forms part of the Cooperation Protocol signed between the ISJ and CMC.
During the workshop, ISJ officials provided an overview of the country’s gaming framework and explained the regulator’s role in overseeing the industry.
The session also highlighted the measures being implemented to promote responsible gambling and protect players. A key area of discussion was the prevention of underage gambling. The ISJ emphasized the importance of restricting access to gambling activities by people who have not reached the legal gambling age.
The workshop also addressed player self-exclusion. This allows individuals to voluntarily restrict their access to gambling when it begins to negatively affect their health, family relationships, professional life or finances.
Responsible gambling remains an important part of Angola’s gaming regulatory framework. The ISJ continues to promote measures designed to reduce gambling-related harm while ensuring that operators and players understand their responsibilities.
By sharing information with professionals from other financial institutions, the regulator aims to strengthen awareness of the risks and responsibilities associated with gaming activities. The workshop also highlighted the importance of cooperation between Angola’s regulatory institutions.
Through its partnership with the CMC, the ISJ is helping to improve knowledge and technical capacity across the financial and gaming sectors. This cooperation can support more effective oversight as Angola’s gaming industry continues to develop.
