Betclic Group is proud to announce its partnership with local authorities and community associations in Côte d’Ivoire to support a nationwide road safety campaign. The initiative focuses on protecting vulnerable road users particularly motorcycle taxi drivers, who are among the most at risk for road accidents in the country.

Motorcycle taxis, known locally as “moto-taxis,” are a widely used means of transportation in both urban and rural areas. However, their popularity is matched by the dangers their drivers face daily, with high rates of injuries and fatalities due to a lack of protective equipment and limited awareness of road safety practices.

In response to this critical public safety challenge, Betclic collaborated with government agencies and grassroots organizations to implement the campaign in four cities: Bouaké, Daloa, Korhogo, and San Pedro. These cities were identified based on traffic density and accident prevalence, making them strategic locations for the first phase of the campaign.

Commitment to Safety

The campaign involved a series of interactive workshops, public demonstrations, and informational sessions aimed at educating drivers on essential road safety behaviors, including:

  • Wearing protective gear such as helmets and reflective vests

  • Respecting traffic signals and speed limits

  • Defensive driving techniques

  • First-aid basics in the event of an accident

As part of its commitment, Betclic distributed hundreds of certified helmets to motorcycle taxi drivers at no cost.
