Betpawa Invest $6 million in Ghana’s football league

BetPawa Ghana, the online sports betting and local gaming franchise owned by Mr Eazi, have been named the headline sponsor of the Ghana Premier League. The Ghana Football Association (GFA) announced the deal at the official signing ceremony in Accra ahead of the 2022/2023 league launch on September 2 betpawa.

The association said the three-year deal is worth $6 million in a post on its website. Kurt Simeon-Okraku, GFA’s president, said the sponsorship would further help develop the country’s professional football league. “We just signed an agreement with betPawa for an initial period of three years. BetPawa is investing a minimum of $6m over the period,” he said. “From this money, we shall see the construction of a new pitch at the Ghanaian Soccer Centre of Excellence that will be called the betPawa pitch. “From this deal, we are introducing a scheme called the Locker Room Bonuses. “Furthermore, part of the money would be invested in advertising, marketing, and promotion of the GFA, betPawa relationship.” Mr Eazi also announced the sponsorship in a post via his Twitter page. “Excited that my company is the new sponsor for the Ghana Premier League #ProudCeo,” he wrote. Mr Eazi is a Nigerian-born, Ghana-based singer. He has established himself as a household name in the Nigerian music industry. This is quite a considerable report from the Ghana football scene and a remarkable contribution from another sports betting company in Africa, a testament to the growth the industry has experienced in recent years. This is a similar approach several betting companies have adopted to promote local sports activities in Africa.
The singer was in the news in April after he Proposed to Temi, daughter of Femi Otedola, the billionaire businessman.
